Description
A wide woven rattan cap, flared like a thatched roof, tops a rounded body of fibers crossed in no apparent order. The contrast between the even cone of the roof and the loose weave below gives it the look of a tiny hut. It sits somewhere between vernacular architecture and a decorative object.
The Locri rattan pendant light is named after Locri, an ancient city founded by Greek settlers on the coast of Calabria, in southern Italy, a land where weaving with natural materials has carried on for centuries.
Switch it on and the light passes through the irregular weave of the body in a diffuse golden glow, while the conical roof casts a crisp shadow on the ceiling. The effect is warm and generous. In your room, it reads like a small lantern with a roof, cozy and welcoming. It draws people to the table.
A rattan hut pendant with a flared roof, for islands and dining tables
At 11" across and 9" tall (29 x 22 cm), it works as a single piece over a nightstand or in an entryway, or in a series over a kitchen island or a large table. In a row of three or four, it sets a warm, regular rhythm. It looks especially good in kitchens with dark wood or black cabinets and in generous dining rooms.

A woven rattan pendant light for boho and welcoming interiors
The woven hut shape brings an organic, crafted texture to boho, Mediterranean or warm modern rooms. Rattan is the cane of a climbing palm, and its loose weave diffuses the bulb into soft gold. This rattan pendant pairs with black or dark wood kitchen fronts, a bedroom in beige and cream, or a living room with linen and terracotta. It works alone as a focal point or repeated in a series.
Rattan keeps its natural variations in tone and weave from one fiber to the next, so each hut is slightly different.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
