Description
A wide, low disc of woven rattan, pinched on the sides so it ripples. It is never quite flat and never quite round, and two opposite points lift slightly at the rim. The crossed weave lets light through in thousands of tiny diamonds.
The Calypso rattan pendant light is named after the sea nymph of Homer's Odyssey, who kept Odysseus on her island and spent her days weaving at her loom inside a Mediterranean cave.
Switch it on and the blond rattan turns honey-colored. The wave in the shade changes how the light falls: softer along the drooping edges, more direct at the center. A detailed pattern of small diamonds spreads across the walls. The cord drops straight from the ceiling, a crisp line against the soft curve of the weave, and the shade seems to float more than hang.
A wide, low rattan wave pendant in four sizes
The 14" size is 5" tall (36 x 13 cm), a horizontal shape that spreads out rather than hanging deep, ideal over a round table, a reading corner or, two in a row, along a kitchen island. The 16" and 20" sizes (40 and 50 cm) suit a dining table or a larger island. The 24" size (60 cm) covers a long table or an open living space with strong presence and no vertical bulk.

A woven rattan pendant light for Mediterranean and boho interiors
Rattan is a tropical climbing palm whose stems are softened and then woven. The wavy shape calls to mind the shaded terraces and pergolas of the Greek islands and Sicily. Over a raw wood or travertine table, it casts a dappled light like sun through leaves. In a living room, near a reading chair, it creates a softer, dimmer zone. In a bedroom, the light through the fibers calms the room in the evening.
The rattan keeps its natural color and a few darker strands, so each shade is slightly different.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
