Description
A thick ring of travertine, carved from the solid stone, closes an almost perfect circle around a glowing core. The surface is dotted with natural cavities and fine mineral veins, the raw texture of quarried travertine. No other material breaks the stone: the curve closes on itself with no visible seam.
The Claros travertine ring pendant light is named after Claros, an ancient sanctuary in Ionia, on the coast of present-day Turkey, home to one of the most consulted oracles of Apollo in the Greek world.
Hung from a simple cord, it gives off its light from inside the ring, with the bulb hidden from view. The halo drops through the opening below and lights the table or counter in a round, concentrated pool, while the top of the stone stays in shadow. That contrast between opaque stone and contained light gives the piece a sculptural calm, like a pebble floating in the air. At night, the ring seems to hold the light rather than throw it.
A low, wide travertine ring pendant for low ceilings and rows
At 8" in diameter and only 3" tall (20 x 7 cm), it works under low ceilings as well as in a series. Alone over a small table or a side table, it gives a discreet point of light. In a row of two or three over a kitchen island or a long dining table, it creates a steady rhythm of stone circles.

A solid stone pendant light for minimal, mineral interiors
Travertine is a porous limestone used since Roman times, and it brings a matte depth that metal or glass cannot copy. Its slightly uneven beige pairs with limewashed walls, pale wood, natural stone and undyed linen. Over a dining table or an island, this travertine ring pendant light fits a minimal or Mediterranean interior, next to stoneware vases and furniture with rounded lines.
The stone keeps its cavities, color shifts and surface marks, so every ring is slightly different.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

The material
Travertine, no two blocks alike
Each block keeps its own pores and tones. The cavities are not flaws: they are the marks of a limestone formed by mineral springs.
- Origin
- Natural limestone formed by mineral springs
- Light
- Dense: it sends the light down in a focused pool
- Care
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and acidic cleaners.

7 ft+
20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
