Description
Raw travertine takes center stage, its beige surface dotted with the small natural craters typical of this limestone. Above it, a solid walnut cylinder fits into the stone, its dark grain cutting a clean line against the pale, porous mineral. Two tiers, two materials, one compact form.
The Capitello travertine and wood pendant light is named after the capital, the carved top of a classical Roman column, and borrows its two-tier outline: a broad base topped by a narrower shaft.
The wood sits partly inside the stone shade. When the light comes on, it filters out of the bottom of the cylinder and grazes the uneven pores of the rock. The effect is dimmed, warm and settled. In your room, it catches the eye without demanding attention, like a small sculpture hanging in the air.
A compact travertine and walnut pendant for focused light
At 6" tall and 5" wide (16 x 12 cm), it fits moderate spaces without filling the view. Hang it over a nightstand in place of a bedside lamp, which frees the table and sends soft light down toward the bed. Over a kitchen island or a counter, hang two or three in a row for a steady, downward beam where you work.

A natural stone and dark wood pendant light for Japandi interiors
Travertine is a sedimentary limestone that builders have used since Roman times. The walnut adds a darker, almost chocolate note that balances the clarity of the stone, a pairing that fits Japandi and modern Mediterranean homes. Over a dining table, this travertine and wood pendant light works with solid wood chairs, leather, linen or aged metal. The stone is neither painted nor lacquered, so it stays rough to the touch while the walnut stays smooth.
The travertine takes the light differently through the day and keeps its own marks, so each piece is slightly different.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

The material
Travertine, no two blocks alike
Each block keeps its own pores and tones. The cavities are not flaws: they are the marks of a limestone formed by mineral springs.
- Origin
- Natural limestone formed by mineral springs
- Light
- Dense: it sends the light down in a focused pool
- Care
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and acidic cleaners.

7 ft+
20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
