Description
A 12" column of marble made of two blocks. Veined stone sits on top, and a lighter section below lets the light through. By day you see a simple shaft of stone on a dark rod. In the evening, the lower half lights up like a night light.
The Syracuse marble pendant light is named after Syracuse, the ancient city on the east coast of Sicily whose quarries of pale stone supplied temples across the region.
Switch it on and the light gathers in the lower block, then falls in a soft beam below. The upper stone stays darker, so the column seems to hold a small lantern at its base. The glow is warm and calm, never harsh. It is mood lighting, an accent for the evening rather than the main light in your room.
A vertical marble column pendant for kitchen islands and nightstands
It comes in one size, 3" wide and 12" tall (8 x 30 cm). It has enough presence to hang alone above an entryway console, and it is narrow enough to repeat along a kitchen island in a row of 2 or 3. You can also hang one on each side of a bed in place of table lamps.

A natural stone pendant light for contemporary and Art Deco interiors
Marble is a natural stone with a pattern that changes from one block to the next, and the two sections here show it in two tones. The mount is kept to a slim dark rod, so the stone does all the work. This marble pendant light pairs with walnut, polished concrete, travertine and brass, in a contemporary kitchen, a dining room or a powder room.
The stone is natural, so each column carries its own veining and no two look exactly alike.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

7 ft+
20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
What if it arrives damaged?
Send us a photo at contact@ambravera.com. We replace or refund it, and any return shipping is on us.
