Description
A narrow cylinder of raw travertine, peppered with natural cavities, capped by a turned dark wood top that fits into it like a cork. Two solid volumes sit one on the other, with no visible screw or seam. The result is compact and very clean: pale stone below, a deep brown wood crown above.
The Segesta travertine and wood pendant light is named after Segesta, an ancient city in western Sicily whose unfinished Doric temple still stands alone in the hills, its bare stone columns never fluted.
Switch it on and the light leaves only from the bottom of the cylinder, drawing a crisp, tight circle on the table or countertop below. The stone walls stay unlit, and the dark wood cap reads as a clear graphic line under the ceiling. The rest of the room keeps its soft shadow. It works as task light and mood light at once.
A narrow travertine pendant made to hang in a series
At only 3" across and 8" tall (6.5 x 21 cm), this pendant is deliberately slender. On its own, it hangs above a nightstand without crowding it. In a pair or a row of three along a kitchen island or a dining table, it draws a rhythmic vertical line that wide pendants cannot.

A stone and dark wood pendant light for graphic, mineral interiors
Travertine keeps its pores and veins, and the wood keeps its own grain, so the two textures stay distinct. The dark wood contrasts sharply with the light stone, which gives this travertine and wood pendant light a crisp outline next to walnut furniture, black metal fixtures or polished concrete. It suits a modern kitchen, a dining room with dark chairs, or a bathroom wall where you want a quiet vertical accent.
Since the stone is natural, the density of the cavities and the exact shade vary from one piece to another.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

The material
Travertine, no two blocks alike
Each block keeps its own pores and tones. The cavities are not flaws: they are the marks of a limestone formed by mineral springs.
- Origin
- Natural limestone formed by mineral springs
- Light
- Dense: it sends the light down in a focused pool
- Care
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and acidic cleaners.

20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
