Description
A faceted shade of braided rope, built over a black steel frame, forms the outline of a wide, low lantern. Light slips between each strand of the braid, and a black canopy holds the whole piece flat against the ceiling, with no cord or stem. Its angled sides give it a crisper look than a round dome.
The Lindos rope flush mount light is named after Lindos, a village on the Greek island of Rhodes where white houses stack up below the ancient acropolis, a place of narrow lanes where the light always comes filtered through a vine trellis, an awning or a fiber curtain.
Switch it on and the braid scatters fine bright lines that run across the ceiling and the top of the walls. The fiber shifts from beige to honey. The shadow it casts draws a second, wider and softer lantern overhead. The light stays warm and diffused.
A faceted braided rope ceiling light for low ceilings
At 12" across and 9" tall (30 x 22 cm), this flush mount sits where a pendant would hang too low: an entryway, a hallway, a kitchen, a bedroom under the eaves. As a pair over a kitchen counter or island, it defines the space while keeping the headroom clear. In a living room with a low ceiling, it gives warm general light with nothing to duck under.
Want to compare it with other shapes and materials? Browse all our pendant lights and find the one that fits your room.
A natural rope flush mount light with a Mediterranean feel
The rope is twisted, then woven by hand, which gives a supple, even material, thicker than a fine fiber and warmer than metal alone. This rope flush mount light pairs with limewashed walls, zellige tiles, travertine and light wood, in a Mediterranean, boho or Japandi interior. In a bedroom, its filtered light makes the evening feel slower, from the door to the nightstand.
The black frame, discreet by day, disappears once the light is on, and since the rope is woven by hand, each piece is slightly different.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

7 ft+
20-24"
60-66"
The height decides everything. Hang a pendant too high and it behaves like a ceiling light. Bring it down to the right height and it gathers people around the table, frames the bed and gives a kitchen its rhythm. Pick where yours will hang.
30 to 34"
Between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Low enough to feel intimate, high enough to see across the table.
30 to 36"
Above the countertop. In a row of two or three, leave 24 to 30 inches between shades.
7 ft +
From the floor to the bottom of the shade when nothing sits below. Over a coffee table, you can come lower.
7 ft +
From the floor, for a central light. A wide, soft shade keeps the light gentle at night.
20 to 24"
Above the nightstand. It replaces a table lamp and frees up the surface.
60 to 66"
From the floor, one on each side of the mirror, around eye level.
Questions
Before you order
Anything else about this light, write to us. We reply within one business day.
How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
What if it arrives damaged?
