Description
Three crowns of hemp rope, in decreasing diameters, nest one below the other. Each tier is made of tight vertical strands held between two rings, which gives the whole piece the look of a stepped lantern. It has volume without the visual weight of a solid shade.
The Ostuni rope pendant light is named after Ostuni, the "white town" of Puglia in southern Italy, whose limewashed houses rise in three rings around its hill.
Switch it on and the light moves down from tier to tier and leaves through three rings in turn. The vertical strands cut the beam into fine stripes that carry on across the walls, an effect a single-tier shade cannot give. The hemp warms to a soft honey tone. The light feels layered and calm.
A 3-tier hemp rope pendant for dining tables and kitchen islands
At 13" across and 7" tall (32 x 19 cm), this pendant holds its own over a round table, a reading corner or a kitchen island. The stepped build gives it presence without bulk, so it still works in a room that is already full. Over a table, hang it about 30 to 36 inches above the top; over a long island, two or three in a row keep the light even.

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
