Description
A large veil of ecru fabric, stretched and then relaxed, held by two fine wires from a single hanging point. It does not hang so much as float: the edge lifts on one side and drops on the other, and the light slides out underneath.
The Kythira fabric pendant light is named after Kythira, the Greek island where myth says Aphrodite was born from the sea foam and carried ashore by the west wind.
Once lit, the fabric glows from below and turns translucent along its thinnest edges. The bulb never shines straight at you: its light bounces off the veil before coming down. The result is a soft, grazing light with no hard shadows, which flatters faces at the table and the texture of your walls.
A floating fabric veil pendant in four widths, up to 39"
It comes in four sizes: 16", 24", 31" and 39" wide (40, 60, 80 and 100 cm). The 16" sits above a console or a reading corner, the 24" covers a round table, and the 31" takes care of a full dining table. The 39" is made for a large room with a high ceiling, where it works as much as a sculpture as a light.

A fabric pendant light for pared-back, Japandi interiors

Hanging height & installation
Over a dining table, leave 30 to 34 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a kitchen island, 30 to 36 inches. With nothing below, keep at least 7 feet of clearance.
The light connects to a standard ceiling junction box like any fixture. If you are not comfortable with wiring, a licensed electrician will install it quickly.

How do I choose the right size?
Over a dining table, pick a shade about half to two thirds the width of the table. Over an island, two or three smaller shades usually look better than one large one. Send us your measurements and we will tell you which size fits.
Is the bulb included?
No, so you can choose your own warmth. Most designs take a standard medium base E26 bulb; the socket is listed under Materials & dimensions. A warm white LED around 2700 K brings out the weave and the stone.
Will it work with US wiring?
Yes. It is wired for 110-120 V, the US standard, and connects to a regular ceiling junction box.
Can I mix designs in a pair or a trio?
Yes. Choose Pair or Trio, then add any designs and sizes you like: the discount counts every light in your cart.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, not identical. Rattan, rope and stone are natural materials, so the weave, the veins and the tone vary slightly from one piece to the next.
