A dark wood cap closes it. The stone is left matte, never polished, so its texture stays dry and open to the touch.

The Paestum travertine cylinder pendant light is named after Paestum, a Greek city in southern Italy whose three Doric temples, built in porous golden limestone, have stood for twenty-five centuries.

Once lit, the light drops from the base in a round, concentrated halo. The thick walls hold it in completely, so you never catch the bulb, even when the pendant hangs low over a table. The glow sits on the surface below and the stone stays calm above it. It gives your dining table the close, gathered feel of a meal by lamplight.

A medium travertine pendant with the proportions of a vase

At 4" across and 6" tall (11 x 16.5 cm), it has the shape of a vase more than a lampshade. Alone over a console or a nightstand, it reads as a small sculpture. Repeated over a kitchen island or a long dining table, in a row of two or three, it creates a steady line that gives the whole room structure.

Want to compare it with other shapes and materials? Its thick, unpolished walls give this travertine cylinder pendant light a weight you can feel from across the room. It pairs with raw wood, polished concrete, black metal and limewashed walls, in a contemporary, Mediterranean or wabi-sabi interior. Over a farmhouse table or a stone countertop, it feels right at home.

Because the stone is natural, the density of the cavities and the shade vary from one piece to the next.

Materials & dimensions

Material: Travertine, wood
Diameter: 4" (11 cm)
Height: 6" (16.5 cm)
Color: Beige
Socket: Medium base (E26/E27), bulb not included
Voltage: 110-120 V (US standard)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1085/9505/2869/files/suspension-travertin-cylindre-allumee-fond-blanc-packshot_f1c1249c-3aa2-4fb4-ae8c-418ff9a9dacb.webp?v=1793328464
